Kefalonia is the biggest of the Ionian Islands. Its capital is argostoli, a town of 12,000 residents. Kefalonia is well-known for its unique beaches, its National Park of Ainos mountain, its flora and fauna, the Venetian Castles and the Archaeological sites

Kefalonia island is daily connected with the main country by boat as well as by airplane. Especially, twice a day is connected to the port of Patra, five times a day to the port of Kyllini and twice a day to Lefkada island. During summer the island is connected to Zakynthos island and to Italy.
Olympic Airways connects daily Kefalonia to Athens and twice a week to Preveza, Corfu and Thessaloniki.
